CODE OF ETHICS

To provide the framework by which to guide individuals, corporate members, training institutions and stakeholders of the association to attain the highest degree of professionalism, members shall be guided by the following:

  1. Represents personal and professional qualifications in a true and accurate manner.
  2. Maintains confidentiality of members except where disclosure is compelled by law or to serve a compelling professional need.
  3. Bases professional action and decisions upon sound, objective rationale without influence of favors, gifts, or personal or political advantage.
  4. Recognizes and accepts responsibility for individual actions, judgments and decisions.
  5. Believes in lifelong learning and strives to master, maintain and improve professional competence through study, work, travel and exploration.
  6. Contributes to the growing body of specialized knowledge, concepts and skills that characterize career and technical education.
  7. Strives for the advancement of career and technical education, upholds its honor and dignity, and works to strengthen it in the community, state and nation.
  8. Participates actively in the work of association to define and improve standards of career and technical education preparation and service.
  9. Evaluates students and members without regard to race, color, creed, sex, status or any other factor unrelated to the need for career and technical education, allows any student or member to participate in the program who can benefit from the program and provides the same benefits or advantages to all students or members in the program.
  10. Safeguards the health and safety of students and members against incompetent, unethical or illegal behavior of any person, whether student or member.
  11. Gives equal opportunities for members to participate in professional, training and other relevant activities, national and international and, to obtain professional qualifications to enhance teaching-learning experience.
  12. Ensures good governance of our training resources, services and facilities to comply with relevant laws and regulations and strives for quality and relevance for current education and training, encourages research and supports innovation.
  13. Utilizes training experts (especially those with expertise in pedagogy and assessment methods) in the planning of its programs and in the development of new programs and methods.
  14. Regularly communicates and shares to all parties on association matters on the principles of responsibility, accountability and transparency.
